The three phases of a system

Any system development process has a design-, development- and implementation phase.

Solution Design

The most important part of a any software project is to ensure the software solves the right problem. This is called the scope, and it includes all features needed to ensure all requirements are addressed.

Development and testing

Through agile principles the components are developed and tested in iterative cycles. This includes database chnages, code logic changes, front end changes and content.

Operation

After the system went live, it becomes part of the business operations. As business changes, systems need to be able to adapt. We call this phase the maintenance phase and involves three types, corrective, adaptive and perfective maintenance.
